This paper proposes a survey on weak-exogeneity in Vector Error Correction Models (VAR-ECM), and makes the connection with the literature now well-established on weak-exogeneity in Vectorial Autoregressive Models (VAR). Indeed, in the stationary case, considerable interest has been shown in the issue of weak exogeneity testing by Florens, Mouchart and Richard (1979), Engle et alii (1983), Florens and Mouchart (1985), as well as by Monfort and Rabemananjara (1990). In the non stationary case theoretical and applied works devoted to exogeneity have increasead these past years (e.g. Johansen, 1992b; Urbain, 1992, 1995; Hendry and Mizon, 1993; Ericsson et al., 1998; Rault, 2000, 2005; Rault and Pradel, 2003), and some recent advances have recently emerged. The aim of this article is to unify, supplement, and synthesize previously recent results on exogeneity in linear VAR-ECM models with I (1) variables and to present some further possible developments of this literature.
